Trending - Entrepreneurship

People have been forced to get creative with themselves for survival because of increased rates of lay-offs across the world and job security being a thing of the past. When the economy is said to be going through a recession and people are backed up against a wall with families to provide for, people tend to get innovative, especially when the markets for job interviews are high and few.

In this era, we discover a lot of self-made entrepreneurs who will testify to not finishing college or even high school, yet still, they are able to run multi-million-dollar companies. Everyone would love an opportunity as such and there is no big difference between them and us. Being your own boss means that you call the shots. At the end of the day, you have the last word, but it doesn’t mean that you won’t listen to the people who are part of your team. Transformational leaders can meet great heights of success with a team aligned to their core values and mission statement.

An emergent market for young entrepreneurs follows the social media trends of Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn and Twitter to name a few. The benefits of these online businesses are startup costs are drastically reduced. Once a new entrepreneur has set his sights on the type of business he’s willing to pursue, all he requires is a Wi-Fi connection and a social media account to get started.

Now as much as people believe it is about how many likes a page receives or the number of followers a person has, social media is much more flamboyant. There’s an art to satisfying the customer’s demands and what they actually need or will pay for. Some entrepreneurs are blinded by what they believe to be best for their brand, but it isn’t always. Social media can have a mean side to itself.

The key to any business is to listen to what people want. They drive the factors that promote good working businesses and they leave the reviews. How many times have we heard our neighbors or best friends promoting a product because they had a good experience? Once you pay attention to your customers and treat them with respect you’re able to capitalize on that and grow brand loyalty along with originality.

The reality behind any business is constant devotion and awareness. Knowledge is power and as an entrepreneur, one must be able to forecast their business’ future environment. One moment things can be great and in the next, things suddenly turn upside down. Business economy trends are so volatile that without the right predictions one may not be able to adjust their business strategies for the storm and this is inevitable for survival.

Seeing is not always believing. People, however, have varied thoughts on that. A business may appear to be succeeding massively on social media through promotions and advertisements. This does not mean that they are being profitable. Business strategy involves an illusion of power and influence to help relaunch their names. Just as hypnotists use repeated imagery or colours, so too do businesses employ methods of mass advertising to gain larger market shares through repetition of their products images.

Most businesses don’t last beyond their third year. Sustainability planning has been determined as the main factor for failure of start-up businesses. People always know the reason they get into the business, but they never set a vision beyond that line. Setting yearly realistic goals that achieve incremental growth and stability within any business helps keep it functional and on the right track.

Entrepreneurship may not be a field for everyone, just as not all leaders are born. However, if innovation is ingrained within you and you find yourself coming up with creative ways of doing everyday things then give it a shot. You may not be the first person with the idea, but you may very well become the most successful.

Financial Literacy Is Your Greatest Weapon

What is the greatest thing since sliced bread? Financial literacy. It is not a savvy answer. It might confuse most. Not that before sliced bread, which was invented in 1928, people were financially inept. Since then, tools and the manner in which we manipulate our finances have changed and evolved. Finances, to some, seem like a dirty word, another dreaded f-word, one that makes you shudder. It is simply a chore, something no one enjoys doing, even though it is incredibly important.
